Life's Tool Box – A Guide for Parents and Educators


Dr. Rona Novick is a clinical child psychologist, parenting expert, author, lecturer, and University and Medical School professor.  Coupled with many years of clinical experience is her on the job training as the mother of three sons.

Currently, Dr. Novick serves as the Director of the Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Doctoral Program in Jewish Education and Administration at the Azrieli Graduate School of Yeshiva University.  She is an Assistant Professor of Child Psychology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Dr. Novick is the C0-Educational Director of Hidden Sparks, a professional development initiative to support the success of all students in Jewish schools.

Dr. Novick helped develop the BRAVE bully reduction and social emotional leadership development program while serving as the Director of the Alliance for School Mental Health at the North Shore- Long Island Jewish Medical Center.  She has expanded that program to include a major research initiative on social emotional development in Jewish Day schools across the US.

Dr. Novick has lectured extensively, to lay and professional audiences.  She has published book chapters and journal articles on child psychology topics.  She is the editor of  the book series Kids Don’t Come With Instruction Manuals and author of the Helping Your Child Make Friends book in that series.  Dr. Novick is currently working on a series of picture books addressing life’s challenges, for parents to read with their children.

  1. Now that we “reviewed” the credentials, we have a better understanding of how and why we are so helped with Dr. Novick’s Blogs. Her “teachings” continue to educate us, even as we “think we know”.
    May her strengths and abilities continue to help all those who are fortunate enough to avail themselves of her care.
